It's the first day of eighth grade and the pressure to create the perfect outfit is crazy—so crazy that your inner voice, “PIXI,” comes to life and holds you hostage until you find the “perfect” outfit! But what is perfect? Players learn emotional regulation through play in this immersive escape room and discover the real beauty of self-acceptance. With original music, puzzles, and dialogue, SPIRALS redefines RTA’s immersive experience landscape. Created for tween girls by a team of diverse women who’ve been there, SPIRALS is a love letter to growing up, finding your style, and owning who you are.
As the only escape room running during the Fall 2024 semester at Toronto Metropolitan University, we faced the creative challenge of sourcing materials and tools to bring the experience to life. Through crowdfunding and campus fairs, we raised enough funds and hired a dedicated crew to turn our vision into reality! Additionally, we were able to educate tween girls by creating an experience that not only resonates with them but educates through play!
